The OEMTOOLS 1/2" Drive Torque Wrench is an easy-to-use click-style torque wrench. Simply set the desired torque and ratcheting direction, and tighten until the wrench produces an audible click. Accurate torqueing from 25 to 250 foot-pounds. You should not use the torque wrench as a breaker bar, as this can cause your wrench to become uncalibrated. Properly torquing fasteners is a safety issue. It’s a common misconception that over torquing a fastener makes it less likely to loosen. In fact, it puts additional stress on your fastener and makes it more likely to fatigue. Both over and under torquing and over torquing increase the chance of fastener loosening and fastener damage. The best way to keep your auto fasteners from loosening from vibration is to ensure you tighten each fastener to the manufacturer’s specifications and use Loctite, or something similar, to protect your fasteners from vibrating out.
